Exit9 Launches new shop called Local Line
You have probably heard that Exit9 is one of the new shops going into the new Essex Market as part of the Essex Crossing project. We are launching a new shop called Local Line focusing on local foods and goods that make swell gifts.
We are stoked. We love the idea of having a shop in a new destination that mixes the history of the Essex Street Market and a new take on retail. New Yorkers and tourists will enjoy the experience. We feel lucky to be joining the vendors who are currently at the historic Essex Street Market. They are going to be some amazing retail neighbors.
Alas, the September and the October open dates have come and gone. Our new shop will not open at the Essex Market until 2019. The market is managed by the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the EDC for short. They tell us we can open our new shop in early 2019.
Can't lie, we are a bit crushed. We were ready to open. For the past six months, a team of us have been meeting with local makers, curating gift boxes with delicious local food and collaborating with our new Essex Market community members such as the lovely folks at Turnstile Tours. It's been a blast.
So as we wait out the delay we are debuting a taste of Local Line at Exit9 in our shops and online. Check out the pop-up shop online and see some amazing local food gift boxes.
And if you have friends and neighbors who are local makers of food, home goods, ceramics, candles, jewelry, small art pieces, spa goods etc., send them our way for 2019.
In the meantime, check out the Local Line gift boxes.
Love, your Pals at Exit9 and Local Line!
